چکیده

Grand Canonical Monte Carlo, GCMC, simulations are used to study the gravimetric and volumetric hydrogen storage capacities of different carbon nanopores shapes: Slit-shaped, nanotubes torusenes at room temperature, 298.15 K, pressures between 0.1 35 MPa, for pore diameter or width 4 15 Å. The influence shape curvature on as a function pressure, temperature is investigated analyzed. A large pores means, in general, an increase pores. While have surfaces with more than slit-shaped planar pores, their lower those according present GCMC simulations. Torusene, less studied nanostructure, has two radii curvatures, but similar nanotubes, which only one radius curvature. goal obtain qualitative quantitative relationships structure porous materials capacities, particular especially relationship carbon-based materials.

Grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations of water in protein environments.

The grand canonical simulation algorithm is considered as a general methodology to sample the configuration of water molecules confined within protein environments. First, the probability distribution of the number of water molecules and their configuration in a region of interest for biochemical simulations, such as the active site of a protein, is derived by considering a finite subvolume in ...

Pivot-coupled grand canonical Monte Carlo method for ring simulations

A new method is presented for the simulation of an ensemble of polymer rings of variable size at fixed monomer chemical potential. Called pivot-coupled grand canonical Monte Carlo ~PC-GCMC!, it is based on the directed addition or removal of a monomer to or from a ring, coupled to the pivot of a section of the ring to maintain the ring’s continuity. Application of PC-GCMC to single, isolated ri...

Hydrogen Storage Capacity of Carbon-Foams: Grand CanonicalMonte Carlo Simulations

Hydrogen storage in the three-dimensional carbon foams is analyzed using classical grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations. The calculated storage capacities of the foams meet the material-based DOE targets and are comparable to the capacities of a bundle of wellseparated similar diameter open nanotubes. The pore sizes in the foams are optimized for the best hydrogen uptake. The capacity depend...

Boltzmann bias grand canonical Monte Carlo.

We derive an efficient method for the insertion of structured particles in grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations of adsorption in very confining geometries. We extend this method to path integral simulations and use it to calculate the isotherm of adsorption of hydrogen isotopes in narrow carbon nanotubes (two-dimensional confinement) and slit pores (one-dimensional confinement) at the temper...

The adsorption of a series of aromatics in ITQ-1: grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations

Grand canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulations employing a rigid framework are performed to explore the adsorption behaviors of some aromatics in the purely siliceous MCM-22 zeolite, ITQ-1. Benzene, toluene, m-xylene and o-xylene are separately simulated at 315 K, investigating a series of pressure from 0.1 to 14 kPa. The potential adsorbed sites of the studied molecules are determined from the...
